Cloisonné Enamelling

Cloisonné Enamelling Cloisonné means partition in French. These partitions are created with silver wire set into clear glass called flux in enamelling. They are then filled with coloured enamel to suit your design. Cloisonné is often used as stone replacement in jewellery and set with a bezel. We will create a piece of Cloisonné enamel from start to finish using traditional techniques of wire bending and wet packing enamel. The use of foils under glazes and rods to add depth to your work will be discussed. Cloisonné on a curved surface will be discussed. It is preferable to have previous enamelling experience.
