Cloisonné Enamelling

Cloisonné Enamelling Cloisonné means partition in French. These partitions are created with silver wire set into clear glass called flux in enamelling. They are then filled with coloured enamel to suit your design. Cloisonné is often used as stone replacement in jewellery and set with a bezel. We will create a piece of Cloisonné enamel from start to finish using traditional techniques of wire bending and wet packing enamel. The use of foils under glazes and rods to add depth to your work will be discussed. Cloisonné on a curved surface will be discussed. It is preferable to have previous enamelling experience. Students are to bring their own Jewellery hand tools. Maximum number of students: 4 Cost of Fine Silver Wire is not included 4 Evenings from 6:30 to 9:30 Starting on Thursday Aug 4th to Aug 25th.
